Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can provides school age children a dynamic and engaging physical fitness program specifically designed to bring back the fun in being active. The program introduces primary school and preschool children to fitness through the conduct of a new and exciting 30 minute fitness session each week during the course of the program.

The program enables children to learn through play the value and virtue of being physically fit and active. This experiential approach capitalises on the way kids learn best - by doing! This program helps develop physical and psychological well-being through incorporating physical activity into the routines and lives of children.

The program enhances overall fitness by promoting and developing fundamental gross motor skills, cardiovascular fitness, upper and lower body strength, coordination, flexibility and self-confidence. Catch Me If You Can also aligns to the Essential Learning Achievements (ELA) of the current curriculum framework for ACT schools including addressing:

  • ELA 4 The student acts with integrity and regard for others
  • ELA 5 The student contributes to group effectiveness
  • ELA 8 The student listens and speaks with purpose and effect
  • ELA 12 The student takes action to promote health
  • ELA 13 The student is physically skilled and active
  • ELA 14 The student manages self and relationships
